Objective
By the end of this training, technicians will understand how to prevent exposure to pest control products by utilizing proper PPE. Technicians will learn how to correctly wear PPE to protect their respiratory tract, prevent skin absorption, and protect eyesight.
Overview
Adhering to PPE requirements as specified on pesticide labels is essential for safe application of pest control products. Not following these criteria may result in individual harm and increased risk of exposure. This lesson will cover Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including the importance of airtight respirators, fit checks, and the use of sunscreen.

Note: Respirator cartridges last 8 hours once exposed to air. Store in an airtight container to extend life; discard after 8 hours of continued use when stored properly. Facial hair may impede the airtight seal, increasing exposure risk—follow PPE regulations on the pesticide label.
